JP Transit Takes Over the RTA 201 Kenner Loop — Ribbon Cutting on 9/20

This Friday at 9am, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate a new bus stop for the Jefferson Parish Transit E201 Kenner Loop at the Social Security Office located at 1616 Joe Yenni Blvd in Kenner. Jefferson Parish and City of Kenner Officials are pleased to announce that the Jefferson Parish Transit E201 Kenner Loop will soon have a new bus stop. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate this additional bus stop at the Social Security Office located at 1616 Joe Yenni Blvd in Kenner.

WHY: Effective Monday, September 23, 2024, Jefferson Parish Transit is taking over the RTA 201 Kenner Loop. Riders will notice new buses and bus stop signage. Service will not be interrupted. The route and schedule will remain the same, with the exception of one additional bus stop.
The new Jefferson Parish Transit E201 Kenner Loop will detour from the Treasure Chest Casino to the Social Security Office, located at 1616 Joe Yenni Blvd. The Kenner Loop route provides service from Kenner River Town, to the Treasure Chest Casino, Esplanade Shopping Center, Ochsner Hospital (Kenner), Walmart Supercenter #1342, and the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.
To make this a more seamless transition for Kenner Loop riders, Jefferson Parish Transit is piloting a program to lower the base fare for all riders across Jefferson Parish. Effective on Monday, September 23, 2024, the new base fare for Jefferson Parish Transit will be $1.25 (instead of $1.50) and the 31-day pass for an adult riders will cost $45 (instead of $60).
